Apple Orchard Volunteer
On November 13, 2021, our beloved GIA Outreach members Henry and Eunchan Oh volunteered at the apple field unification farm run by North Korean defectors with GIA students. Unification Farm is located in Yesan, Chungcheongbuk-do. The students left for the orchard at dawn with joy and worked until late in the evening. Students worked hard to remove plastic from the field and even pick apples at the height of trees. As congressman Ji Seoung Ho told students about how helping one North Korean defector is helping North Korean defectors in Korea, students stated that they were glad to have this great opportunity to help North Korean defectors as they wished to help them always.
Live eCommerce
Our outreach and the school conducted live selling of apples from “통일농원" where members of Outreach and students went for volunteer work. Our students not only wanted to help out with farm work, but they also sought to help them to sell them successively by this year. Live selling was conducted with the “Live Commerce” platform. With professional live announcers, students engaged in selling apples live. Even though it was their first attempt at the live show, they did well with their best effort. A lot of people bought apples through this live show connected with the Naver shopping platform. It was not only meaningful for selling them, but it was amazing that they attempted to reach out to people whoever is in need as if it were their situation. They engaged to help with full enthusiasm from setting the cameras and any props needed for the live shoe to finish those jobs.
