December 2020 | Malawi Bus

GIA Outreach Organization team donated/donates to the OpenO2 project in Malawi.

OpenO2 project repairs oxygen concentrators for low-income countries where their broken devices are kept neglected. They have a bus to repair them, which is OpenO2-Mobile. They so far have repaired 649 devices, supporting 4607 adult patients. It has saved from $US 7,739,830 to $US96,000

Our GIA Outreach Team has contributed a total of one OpenO2-Mobile bus to the Malawi team and planning to go there as an internship after the Covid-19.

"Our vision is to see a significant proportion of broken concentrators restored to working condition and maintainable in a sustainable way to continue to provide life-saving oxygen."

"Our Mission is to provide public and private organizations in low-income countries with access to resources, including repair manuals, training materials, and replacement parts for obsolete models of concentrators, some of which have been developed under an open-source design framework and can be made using locally available materials."
